so the way the rules are written to move from the purple to the red tier, the county has to have red tier numbers for a solid two weeks, and that's exactly what alameda county has done. the new indicators are per 100,000 people, sitting at 6.3 in alameda county. it's supposed to be less than seven. the overall positivity rate is 2.4 percent. it's supposed to be less than rate. and the positivity rate in the disadvantaged neighborhoods, 3.7 percent and it's supposed to be less than eight as well. and we caught up with the owner of body mechanics gym. he said he has lost 80 percent of his clientele and the few that remain work in a small outdoor patio. when it reopens he can open up at 10 percent capacity. >> a few months ago, i was sort of stressed out. but i am more optimistic right now. i believe that we are going to do well. i'm excited and ready to get my family back in here and my members. we have faith that things will clear up and we will get back to where we were before. >> reporter: all righty. so with the red tier comes indoor dining, museums, movie theaters and all that at 2

order food and alcohol vendors don't have to offer it to you no matter if they're in the purple or red tiersoma county is currently in the purple tier. and if you want to head to say roche winery again, you don't have to order food. these wineries can now focus on what they do best. and that's serving up their best glass of wine. this goes for breweries and distilleries to they've been able to stay open throughout most of the pandemic so long as they provide a meal. so this is a huge change. it was hard at first for alcohol vendors who never previously served meals to customers. some didn't have their own kitchens. so they had to get creative partnering with food trucks or they would have to remain closed if they were in a county that was in the purple or red tier which sonoma and napa counties were in majority of the pandemic. this is what your experience is going to look like if you do visit a winery that is in the purple or red tier. for now. they still have to serve people outdoors. customers have to make reservations and you can only say for 90 minutes wineries breweries and distillerie
