the family of a palo alto teacher who was shot and killed by redwood city police has filed a federal wrongful death lawsuit. 33 year old kyle hart was shot in december 2018 in his backyard after his wife called police saying heart was cutting himself with a knife. heart was a middle school teacher and father of a three year old son and a newborn daughter, who was just three days old, his wife said. on that day, no one was in danger, except for kyle. bail himself. the police arrived with guns drawn and shot him in our backyard marin the minutes after the shooting, the officers had no regard for kyle's dignity or medical needs, nor do they have any concern for myself or my children. kyle died without the comfort of his family. american way did not get to say goodbye. the suit was filed today by civil rights attorney john burress at the time, redwood city police said they first tried using a taser but open fire when they say he advance toward them with a butcher knife. the officers were cleared of wrongdoing in his death. the officer who shot and killed 20 year old dante, right during a
