california dairy. we are back and taking a quick look here at 9.40 out of the peninsula where a massive fire in redwood city the sky. this was near a valero gas station at whipple avenue and veterans boulevard just east of highway one. oh, one. video from the citizens app. and you can certainly see all that smoke in the distance. the gas station has reopened. but this is what it looked like yesterday afternoon. and you can see again that smoke was terrifying for a lot of folks, especially when it burns near a gas station like that. you think the whole thing's going to go up. luckily it didn't redwood city police quickly closed nearby streets as crews. got around the scene and were able to put it out. firefighters arrived. they found 2 shipping containers full of tires and that is what was burning. several crews responded from san mateo county. the redwood fire chief says that the fire was put out fairly quickly because of the help they received from other fire departments. no word on any injuries from that fire. but we'll let you know as the investigation unfolds. we'll be right back. we are back. time now.
