authorities discovered the bodies of 16 year-old matt miller and 17 year-old accountant in the canal several miles from where their raft was found. kron 4 reggie walnut creek. >>reporter: family members and friends of the team consoled each other after search and rescue teams discovered the raft the students were bragging on in this channel in the concord area on sunday near bancroft. the current year in the canal is so strong as what the teens nearly 5 mi. away from where the raft was found. the body of 17 year- old gavin was discovered here and the body of 16 year-old matthew miller was located near highway 4. authorities say the high school students when into the canal about 2:00 p.m. on saturday. they were supposed to meet a friend at the other end of the canal by 4:00 p.m.. they never showed up. the friend got they got out of the water somewhere else and never reported them missing. the parents didn't find out about their son's deadly and venture until late saturday night. they were finally reported missing early sunday morning at midnight. contra costa county sheriff said it was too dangerous to send search teams into the water at that l
