i was recently reading a report by the editor-in-chief, reid wilson. a tremendous reporter.epublicansut the making gains in states like oregon on and washington state -- oregon and washington state. very small handprint for republicans, yet you are able to see recent gains being made by them. what other states do you think that republicans could get their hands into? host: brian walsh? guest: i agree with the color in the sense that reid wilson is one of the most well respected reporters in washington. i think he's very smart in in the way he analyzes politics today. look, i think washington state and oregon, when i look at the senate map, are probably on the periphery. republicans need to win six senate seats next year to win back the senate. for the democrats is a lot of those are taking place in red leaning states. alaska, arkansas, louisiana. i think we are continuing to make gains in other states. michigan and iowa are two states that president obama won pretty handily, but could be the site of two competitive senate races. host: this is also from "the weekly standard"
