[laughter] it was made by springfield and lastly by remington. a total of 2,244,000 of these were made. only 11,000 were made in a configuration such as this. this dates to the 1930's. these rifles were beautifully crafted at spring field army. -- armory. they had specially selected barrels. simply absolutely astoundingly accurate rifles. these were effective out to 1000 yards in the proper hands. again, we used the clip system from paul mauser. we threw in one more wrinkle. you remember on the one from italy, the bolt and being in front of the receiver ring. we added a safety lug to the bolt right here that rolled in front of the weary receiver ring. that acted as the same type of safety feature. one little feature there. next thing were going to look at is a model of 1917. what happened during world war i is the british were running short of firearms. the british contacted the remington arms company to build a rifle for them because they weren't producing enough for their own troops. they came out with what was called a pattern 14. it's basical
