high water and he's directing this film wind river which is about a game tracker played by jeremy renneryed pie elizabeth olsen so they can investigate the rape and murder of an 18-year-old girl. it's brutal and hard to watch at time but because of the direction and the writing he locks you into these scenes and this movie as one of the bet editing choices i've seen in cinema in a long time. i gave this movie a four out of five as well. my only problem with this film is that some of the moments in the film had tonal issues. it's a very serious film they try to lighten the mood with some comedy at times. i get what they were going for but it felt a bit off for the topic at hand. i gave 84 out of five, a phenomenal film from the standpoint a hell or high water. those are the three movies opening up this week.
