reno crosses the stream. he cinches up his equipment, tightens the saddle girths and charges down the valley toward the massive camp four miles beyond. he's got 140 men. inside the village, it's chaos. they didn't expect to fight. they're caught off guard. when the village crier see the soldiers, they scream out, the chargers are coming. the long knives. the blue coats. old women hobbling on sticks trying to get away. young mothers frantically racing around trying to find their children who are swimming and playing. inside the camp, sitting bull, 45 years old, spirit warrior, too old to fight, but not to lead. he exhorts the warriors on. brave up, brave up, strong hearts to the front. cowards to the rear. it's a good day to die. 14-, 15-year-olds race out of the village on horseback. they tie sage brush to the backs of their ponyies' tails and ride back and forth creating a giant just cloud. as he thunders down the valley faster and faster and faster at 700 yards, he knows two things. number one, the village

here is modern reno. even though there's nothing of defenses, if you climb up top and take a look, which i did, it's in the distance. it's evocative, you can feel what it would have been like. it's definitely worth a visit. nearby more land. land bought for civil war defenses, fort circle park. i took this a couple weeks ago. i'm driving along on 36th street. i'm thinking what a beautiful wilderness in the city, amazing great space. this is more manicured. this is terrific, too. i guess people don't use it as a park. i saw this guy. i looked over here. sure enough, a guy on the tree reading a kendall book, i guess. politics and prose not far away. that's a park. battery kimball, park service has been like this, community loves it for dog walking. back in the trees. that was to guard chain bridge, only fixed bridge between washington and harpers ferry. very important. across the river and potomac the only fort the park has today in virginia, fort marcy. it was built again chain bridge and leesburg pike. it

even this past hour, up to about 55 in just really the past hour from up towards just south of reno down just north of fresno. an upper level system is making its way towards the coastline. that's why we have all the cloud cover, especially right up against the coast. down in the south bay, a hazy look. comfortable in the 70s. in san francisco, that's where we have the fog and low clouds. it's been like this all day long. that marine layer pushed up against the coast because of that system making its way in. that's why we have the increased marine layer and also the chance of thunderstorms in our sunday forecast. we'll show you what it looks like from space. you can see the swirl, that area of low pressure spinning towards the coast, not very defined and it doesn't really show up that well. the thing to note here, as it's moving towards the coastline, all these thunderstorms just erupt. that's what's going to happen tomorrow. for us, it's going to mean a very slight chance of thunderstorms. not everybody's going to see the rain. kind of like what we had last weekend with this monsoon moi
