renolds thank you for were york and joins us today you are recognized to gives your opening statement. >> chair -- ranking member, sen ma ranking member cruz and members of the subcommittee again i'm charlene renolds for stiff phoenix past 13 months have negatively impacted airports like no other event in the history of aviation. prior toot the pandemic, phoenix sky harbor international airport ended 2019 with a record 46 million passengers and we are well on our way to another record inrs 2020 when the pandec began. as a result, in calendar year 2020, our total passenger numbers were down 53% as compared to 2019. and that airport nonaeronautical revenue declined by 36% since airports by phoenix sky harbor rely on revenue at the generate operations and capital projects deep budget cuts were needed we reduced our annual operating budget by 30 million dollars and the third 800 million dollars worth of construction projects. we're grateful to congress for sending muchh needed federal relief if to airports. federal funding has not only helped us weather the pandemic it has assisted us in
