in fact, you have governor kemp starting the process of removing a republican state senator indicted alongside donald trump. these charges, the case overall, where does it leave the georgia gop, and where does it leave the national party as they look at their electoral map in this next election? >> yeah, the georgia gop is really a bit of a unicorn, nationally, in terms of the national gop. under governor kemp's leadership, a continued resist or to donald trump's fake election themes and theories, if you will. but we also know that those themes and theories do not resonate broadly within the national party. what i do find intriguing is there's always been this question about if donald trump lost in 20 and came back in 24, would his candidacy break the party? we're not seeing that, but if you just look at the numbers, donald trump does hold 56 to 60% of the party. that's true. but the interesting thing is among the others, though they would happily support donald trump, they are wrestling to get past him and they are resisting these fake election theories and themes. and so you see th

ohio is a state where the house is led by republicans. where the senate is led by republicans. st led by republicans, but there is a super majority of republicans leading the state senate there. and they also have a republican governor. this is not a state where people are opposed to republican officials. this looks to me like a red state that doesn't want to go as far as republicans are trying to take it. am i missing something? how do you square the fact that there are so many different republican elected officials. but they still can't get these ballot initiatives passed? >> i think there are two factors going on here. one is what michel alluded to, which is that the state is so heavily gerrymandered, that even if the republican party does when at state law elections, and presidential elections, the makeup in the legislature is so overwhelmingly republican. and so deeply red. because of the way that the lines are drawn. it doesn't represent even a republican state. it's a super right-wing legislature that they have. the other issue is that republicans don't want this to have
