despite my former standing as a republican. the feeling among democrats in california is a bit of frustration. some of the stuff that james was talking about. i feel like there is a way to balance public safety was still being a liberal, still being on a progressive. you can want to ban assault rifles but also think that cop should be protecting your neighborhood. i think there is a feeling among democrats that some on the progressive left went overboard. and chesa boudin is an example of that. we saw the school board members recalled here in san francisco. and possibly, i think the most dramatic thing, we will see what happens with governors so in the mayor's race in california. he was a mitt romney republican. that would be like me running for mayor of los angeles. if he wins that, that would be a real shock to the system. but even that he is in the game tells you that the democratic base is ready to look for more sensible, reform oriented agenda. it's sort of part of the rebellion of the norm of democrats. they just want nor
