in my dayjob, in the fire and rescue service, we deal with it quite often.isasters like this. an incident like a flooding will be spread over a large area. it can be quite challenging to coordinate something like that. and, the amount of hours of work that go into it from firefighters, police and paramedics, from the people who we trust to call out and deal with this is phenomenal. so, none of us are particularly pleased when we see flooding alerts but it is something we need to deal with more and more often. and as a psychologist you know the impact it can have, people leaving their homes and people losing possessions. it can be devastating for months or years after the water has gone? you forget about the human impact when you are trying to deal with it but that point is very real. it can be really ha rd to point is very real. it can be really hard to know that everything you have had and everything you've loved dearly is completely damaged by floodwaters. and not know what you have or you do not have to go back to is just absolutely heartbreaking. talking
