a horse became trapped after falling down a steep ravine off a remote trail in point reyes national seashore happened yesterday on the coast trail. the rider was not hurt, but it did take rescue teams seven hours to get to the animal. the horse fell in a precarious position and access to the ravine was quite difficult. and there was no cell phone service in the area. after many failed attempts, crews used a rope system to get the horse to the top of the hill, where veterinarian crews were waiting. today, the horse is recovering. >> a brush fire in san jose is under control tonight. crews first responded to the fire at about 615 this evening near communications hill. 30 acres burned, but no structures were threatened and no injuries were reported. more than 40 firefighters are still on scene, helping with mop up efforts tonight and in the east bay. a fast moving grass fire dubbed the empire fire, burned more than 250 acres in brentwood. the fire started near empire mine road and deer valley road around 315, burning dangerously close to homes this afternoon, crews with cal fire and contra cost
