i think the first time that i really saw this, i was in reynosa, which is right across from mcallen, texas. big camp there, crowded camp. and everybody's in line for something, you know, some kind of aid. this kind of aid if covid shots or whatever. and one of the lines was they were being handed debit cards and so i went right up to the front of the line, and i started to take photos and video of the debit cards. and i'm asking the worker, what is this? and he says, well, you know, i work with iom, the international office for migration, and these are credit cards. we're handing out all these credit cards. well, how much is on them? well, they get for almost $400 every two weeks. and it's renewable while they wait to find their way across. so that was the first time i saw that. i tweeted it out. it was controversial. people didn't believe it, etc. . but then i just started digging in and found that this was called the cash based intervention program and that the united nations was handing out cash in not just cards, but in vouchers all along the trail from texas to as far south as y
