i was protesting the vietnam war and richard nixon. and on that day i had no idea that i would be here today celebrating richard nixon and his marriage. things do change. you know, as a psychologist to bring a unique perspective to this as well as a historian and biographer. i have been working, believe it or not, during marital therapy with a couple since 1970. that is a long time. one of the things i have always been fascinated by his long-term marriages and all that they shift means. a couple of courtships. over a marriage one person -- becomes interesting in the new careers. the other partner moves on to something else. there is a dance and a rhythm and the relationship. i think that we see this. and i would like to maintain that too many people see the knicks and marriage through the lens of watergate. that is simply not a fair and accurate lance to see a 53 year relationship. so am going to talk about three main myths that still crop up about the next as in their marriage and a will to use some of the things that i found. one of
