[ applause ] >>> thank you, gay, for that warm introduction. yes, we did see the mother sea turtle laying her eggs. of course, i didn't get to see the hatchlings because they only came out months later, but i suppose some of them are still swimming around there. maybe we can see one of them laying eggs at some later point. gay has been a good friend for many years. she is a friend of history, not only here at the society of the four arts but also for her many years of service at mount vernon. so it is a great pleasure always to see her and to honor her work for american history.
