our next guest is the director of consumer financial protection bureau, richard cordray.was appointed by president obama in january of 2012 and confirmed by the senate on july 16, 2013. he previously led the bureau's enforcement division. prior to joining the bureau, he served on the front lines of consumer protection as ohio's attorney general. he recovered more than $2 billion for ohio's retirees, investors, and business owners and took major steps to help tech consumers from fraudulent foreclosures and financial predators. the director also served as the ohio treasurer and franklin county treasurer, it elected positions in which he led state and county banking activities. earlier in his career, he was an adjunct professor at the ohio state college of law. he served as a state representative. he was the first socialist or general in ohio history. argued seven cases before the supreme court including special appointment of justice s.partment' cordray.lcome director [applause] >> ♪ i am not "earth, wind, and but thank you for asking me to come speak to the convention. tho
