richard reeve has more with this story. kendis, wedace, -- are learning that police are considering this an apparent suicide. somebody saw the car go into the water, and apparently, police were called. police boats and dive teams went ofthe river. we are just off lady bird johnson park near the gw parkway. now, we do not know where the car veered off of the parkway. we do not know at this point if it was a man or a woman, but our newsgathering partners at wto he spoke to a new jersey man on a boat. they saw the car go into the water. it had not submerged yet, and i started taking photographs as then wentng down, and about 90 degrees and completely submerged. i did not see anybody go up. >> he saw the vehicle go into the water, and there was a silhouette of a person in the driver's seat. subsequently, we located the vehicle and recovered one person who has been declared deceased. several hourss a long search. the car plunged into the water about 11:15, and they finally recovered the car at about 4:00 this afternoon. it is a

richard reeve, abc 7 news. >> the red cross is helping to cool local families forced out of their homes after a propane tank explosion. this happened at an apartment building on 3rd street in southeast abc. d.c. were no -- southeast there were no injuries. police made an arrest for a sexual assault. is accused of attacking a 19-year-old woman. the woman said ramirez approached her from behind, pushed her down an embankment, and sexually assaulted her. she managed to get away and run to a bystander for help. two people were hurt in a fire in southeast d.c. the fire started around 6:00 p.m. in the kitchen of a duplex. firefighters are looking into what caused the fire. arson investigators are checking what caused a series of fires at a hotel in northwest ec. they broke out just before 2:00 a.m. in several stairwells. guests were moved to ballrooms will firefighters put out the flames. the guests return to their rooms around 8:30 this morning. montgomery county students were not the only ones exposed to will bring cough -- whooping cough. a fairfax county student also tested positive. the
