leon: richard reeve has the latest. richard: we are in the neighborhood where we believe the mother and the daughter lived. as you may have mentioned, the amber alert said that the little girl is extreme danger. that is why authorities are concerned to find the mother and the daughter. we have a picture of th 31-year-old flora khatun. police say she met with child protective services yesterday in annandale. c.p.s. obtained a court order to remove the little girl, her name is liz from the home. there was a civil court ordered issued that declared the mother unfit. we don't know what led to this. there were previous traffic charges where she had her child unbelted in a car seat. police say when she visited she did not have the child with her and she would not disclose the whereabouts. she left the office and c.p.s. called the police. now police have a criminal parental abduction warrant but so far no trace of the child or the mother. this is a six-week-old baby. they are fragile. there is a lot of concern there. rich: we h

richard reeve has what we learned. what went wrong? hard: as you say, folks in alexandria and arlington did not get the notification. we have learned that is because a virginia state police sergeant simply left it off the notification list. this comes a day after that urgent search for the mother and daughter. flora and her 6-week-old daughter liz. authorities are scrambling to get information out, the notification out. the sergeant left the two towns off the national center for missing and exploited children normally alerts a data distributor and they send the list to wireless carriers and media. inside the national center nobody knew about it until they got an outside text alert from somebody else. it didn't fox on some phones for an hour after that initial alert. people coordinating all of this say there is room for improve. >> one will get the text immediately or another gets it four or five minutes later or even later. that's the different systems and the tower it bounces off of. that's just the nature of the system itself. richard
