richard roth is following developments from new york this morning. re reports of tension between mcafee and his guy, gregory fall. what can you tell? >> this seems to be a morning with a lot of interesting stories. >> yes. >> curious mysteries. so, fall was his neighbor. it appears that there may have been a lot of reasons that they didn't like each other, but he's being looked for by the police, not an official suspect yet. paul was found shot in the head, lying face up in a pool of blood. but dogs could have been at the heart of this. the neighbors, the victim, was a building contractor who had moved there to retire from florida. he had complained reportedly about barking dogs on mcafee's property, dogs that may have come on to his property. there was a computer missing from fall's property and a cell phone. this is john mcafee, who was definitely eccentric, an entrepreneur, had a lot of varied interests. this was him in a recent interview with reuters. >> i have an officer living on my compound. it makes me feel safe. makes me feel safer to know th

richard roth is following all the developments for us and he joins me now. is such a bizarre story, richard. what's the latest? >> it's not the only wild story going around these days. well, according to the writer for "wired," he had another phone interview earlier today with mcafee. and he says in these tweets that mcafee is saying power was just cut to the house i'm in, i think this is it. and in a later tweet, i will not turn myself in. the police have set up road blocks across the country to trap me in. he is described as a person of interest, no formal charges against him. the police telling cnn over the phone that someone was detained for questioning, but no formal charges made against anyone. now another writer jeff wise told cnn earlier today that when he talked again to mcafee and spent a lot of time with him he and others who came in contact with this former security expert were apprehensive. >> i'll put it this way. listen, we're all innocent until proven guilty. but the people in his community were frightened of him. i was frightened. the last t

richard roth, who covers the u.n.ensively and is our cnn favorite on this topic, is there to really give a little more context as to what they wanted to and what kind of status it would give them and how far up in status it would actually elevate them. richard, tell us what it means. >> okay. first, just to clarify, hamas not really here with the palestinians. the palestinian president abbas is in new york, met with the secretary general last night. yes, this is, as usual with the u.n., words matter. sometimes one letter in a document could be a time bomb. what we have here is the u.n. upgrading later today the status of the palestinians here. they are in effect going to become sort of a state within a group of states. but really, as you mentioned, they won't have the right to vote. they're not going to be an official number 194 of the united nations rostrum of countries. but it does give them access to other u.n. affiliated, other organizations, such as the international criminal court, where if they wanted to, and a

richard roth is our u.n. correspondent watching what's going on. g as far as the u.n. is concerned, what is this resolution that's now passed and we're looking at live pictures coming in also from the celebrations in ramallah on the west bank, what does it mean for the palestinians? >> reporter: it means they get to call themselves a state in certain aspects of the united nations organizational system. but it doesn't give them all the rights of being an officially recognized state with their own territories, borders, flag, voting rights. the susan rice appearance was interesting, wolf. i know everyone cringes when it's political, but she's in this fight and having observed her here for four years, this was a very passionate, strong speech to come out to be clear that this was a bad resolution. she hasn't always been present for various reasons on big u.n. moments. the u.s. had the right, listed the first country to explain their vote. the u.s. one of just nine -- of nine countries to vote against this resolution. susan rice calling it unfortunate, c

so should the workers that choose to walk out be fired from their job ps diana roth says a resounding yes. richard says absolutely not. both join me now to hash it out. good to see you both. diana, you say these workers should be fired? >> if i walked off my job, i would get fired. i am not a lawyer. maybe it's yes, maybe it's no. the important thing to say is that joining a union would not be good for walmart employees. if you just look at food and commercial workers union pension plans, they are dramatically underfunded. the tristate pension plan is funded at about 65%. the northern california one at about 55%. these walmart employees would be f paying for the pensions of retired employees of other companies and it would be very difficult for them to fwget the benefits out. there's a reason walmart employees don't want to join unions and should remain nonunionized. >> richard, you disagree. you say this is a strike protected under unfair labor practices. >> that's not just bad advice, that's un-american. americans have the right to strike for certain purposes without being fired. that is somethi
