the teacher richard stein jer accused of child pornography after an embarrassing mistake in front of the class. we're live with the story. that is one classroom lecture the kids will never forget. >> it's sure. a lot of people shocked over this. he has been teaching here 16 skbreers by all accounts he's respected and popular until a mishap involving a naked photo of himself led to very troubling charges. >> everybody was like woah! and just all, like, just got dead silent. >> student lilly was shocked when her computer teacher accidentally showed a naked picture of himself to the class on a video screen. >> he clicked the wrong picture and that popped up and then, right after he was so sad and so -- like i can't believe this. this could ruin my career. and it did. >> he told his bosses about the incident. they place himd on leave, and notified police. authorities later served a search warrant at his home and say they found troubling images on his personal computer. >> there are documents that concities stent can child pornography. >> the lieutenant says there were 200 images of child

. >> joining me now, richard wolffe, editor of msnbc.com and sam stein, political editor and correspondent for the huffington post. richard, the president has said he welcomes a debate. it seems like maybe we're actually having that debate. are we? >> maybe. i mean, there's a lot of misinformation out there, some of. intentional, some of it not. i'm surprised that snowden as a guy working in intelligence could make so many misstatements in his guardian chat. he said that this program was in violation of the law. actually, the problem is it's actually legal. i mean, we can have a debate about whether congress should have authorized it or not. but it seems by all accounts to be legal. you know, there is a question about whether or not the president has somehow betrayed the promises and hopes, that's what he -- what snowden says is wrong about this president. but actually, he was pretty up front in 2008 about saying this kind of eavesdropping was just fine as long as the fisa court said it was so. and he reversed himself just before he got the nomination. he got enough votes for the nominatio
