you can see this heavy down pour, hudson, newport richey and even a half hour to an hour in hernando and citrus county. this is on top of 48 hours of on and off heavy rain. most of the heaviest down pours thankfully have been off shore but they have snuck on shore anywhere from five to seven inches along the coast where that flood watch is. the fartherland you go the lighter the rain totals have been. you haven't seen inches of rain. a lot more spotty south of i-4. heavy pockets but not as wide spread. todara morning to 60% by mid morning. most consistent on and off rain around mid day before things start tapering off. down pours continue keeping highs at 85. i'll let you know how much rain you could see over the next two days and helping you through a rainy commute. >> right notch our majors are dry so that's a bit of good news. a live view outside of tampa along okay. by the airport also very quiet here along memorial highway kennedy area and the veterans expressway. now i want to take you over to the maps. just got a report of an accident along i-75 near sun city center. right now

i will show you the activity here in port richey. you can see a number of investigators here onscene just across the scene. that's the home in question, that's where the baby was in a front bedroom when she was shot late last night. and someone drove by around into the home. as i mentioned, a 1-year-old girl was shot in the wrist. she was in the front bedroom. she was rushed to a local hospital we're told by deputies that she should be okay but a traumatic situation for the family. no one else inside the home was hurt although the home was hit by multiple bull -- hit by multiple bullets. at this point, we haven't sheriff's office of the vehicle involved and no word on any arrests. unlikely at the point. once we get more information, we will let you know. >> okay. we will stay on top of it. that poor child. ryan, thank you. >>> happening today, mad about mold. parents and school officials at a local charter school will square off tonight at a board meeting and they have a lot to talk about. mary mcguire first reported on mold concerns

a neighborhood in new port richey. abc action news reporter rodney dunigan is out there this morning. something that these homeowners haven't seen before. >> reporter: unfortunately not. they are used to this and they are upset about this rain coming down this morning. something that they were not looking forward to. in fact the water on this block continues to rise. if you look at my feet here it's been rising just this morning, we're guessing it's about six inches and all of it coming from a retention pond just down the street. you can see the barriers set up last night, the water has extended beyond the barriers, just put up last night about a half block down. of course many folks concerned, they've spent most of the morning and also last night putting up sandbags hoping that this water doesn't get into their home. unfortunately it continues to creep closer and closer to homes this morning. the county is trying their best to get on top of this issue this morning. they have brought in pumps to get a lot of this water

folks in this neighborhood in port richey concerned. you can see where the flooding started in this area yesterday. you can see where the barricades were set up and actually the water has star half block, all the water coming from a nearby retention pond we're told. unfortunately this is not something new for this community. a lot of folks say over the years this area has flooded, in fact crews of pasco county will be out here early with water pumps a little later this morning trying to help out in the community. this is a story we'll continue to follow and we'll also be speaking with homeowners in the area about how they are dealing with all of this water and the potential for flooding as the water creeps closer and closer to their doorstep.

over an inch of rain at hyundai of new port richey. an inch-and-a-half and the temperatures there are reasonable. a very comfortable night. isolated rain at 9:00 p.m., at 7:00 a.m., 76. a chance of rain. heavy downpour still possible for tomorrow afternoon. largely moving inland on the west to southwesterly flow. 79 tampa international. 76 in saint petersburg. you will see the temperatures are very pleasant. humidity very high. it is august after all. this area of low pressure is spinning across the northern part of the state getting into the south. portions of it over the gulf of that warmth and that moisture and still keeping that on shore flow for the area. so we will keep the possibility of a shower moving on shore. as i mentioned for tomorrow afternoon, we could actually see a few thunderstorms in the inland areas associated with the heating of the day. we will get sunshine some of the inland areas tomorrow. that is our feature for the moment. that is moving to the northwest away from us. losing its grip and influence on the bay a

upper 70s in new port richey. 82 in sebring currently. mid 70s in north port. a lot of moisture on the eastern side. probably flooding. a lot of rain in cuba. the western part of cuba. it doesn't always take much. you just need con consistent rain. the gulf of mexico is trying to control the flow. still a tropical depression. 35 miles an hour winds. that is thursday at 2:00 p.m. forecast to potentially come on time later thursday. but keep in mind with the counterclock wise rotation as we learn with colin. even a goodies tans away, we can see very high tides thursday afternoon. could be coastal flooding as well as some flooding from rain as well. so watch for that in the afternoon hours as that southwesterly wind will be strong and occasional showers that will pass across the area. there's a look at the enhanced the wind shear and the drier air in place. one estimate from one computer model talks about the entire event. four to five inches of rain possible. that seems fairly realistic. especially closer to the coastal areas. there's the center of low pressure f
