( darya ) this morning... the new bart police chief is defending his department'ss to reporting crimes.( mark ) but some people say bart officials could do more to inform the public about crime at its stations. lydia pantazes is live at the walnut creek bart station this morning with the latest. lydia. ( lydia )the new crime reporting system is replacing the past practice of emailing a police log of the crimes that happened at bart stations. the chief says more people have access to the information now that it is online, even though the website does not provide as much detail as to what happened. also, when it comes to releasing video of crimes on bart cars the chief tells us that will be on a case by case basis.police chief carlos rojas says while people have a right to know about crimes on bart they don't want to jeopardize any investigations.we talked to one person who said the more information made public the better but another bart rider agrees that withholding some information is okay.

richmond bridge drive less than 20 min from the toll to 101 ( james ) a couple at the center of a high-profile kidnapping case can go forward with their lawsuit against the vallejo police departmentquinn claim they were defamed when vallejo police called huskins' kidnapping a hoax. huskins went missing back in march of 2015. quinn also says that police accused him of murdering huskins while she was beng held by the kidnapper. quinn detailed the ordeal to investigators. he gave them a blood sample and access to his email accounts. four months later. . .the f-b-i announced that they arrested the kidnapper matthew muller. attorneys for the city were asking the judge to dismiss the defamation claim but the judge ruled that the lawsuit can move forward.
