there is the action from daly city, san francisco bay out toward richmond. the richmond-san rafael bridge and up in marin county. this is probably one of the stronger cells centered close to san quentin, approaching the richmond-san rafael bridge. and moving the maps closer, terra linda and toward fairfax. still some lingering showers. the most intense cell is approaching portions of the richmond-san rafael bridge. we have been tracking the cells closer to los gatos and around saratoga and palo alto. let's check in on some of the current numbers. we have some 50s to report. right now livermore, 53. 56, san francisco. a cool system. you probably felt the change yesterday. is stronger one is developing offshore in the pacific. that will play a role in the sunday forecast. today we still hold onto the possibility of thunderstorms. we have everything in the forecast for today. sunshine, clouds, showers, possibly a thunderstorm and a dusting of snow for higher peaks of the bay area above 3500, 4003. a break tomorrow and a stronger front comes on board sunday. it chance for rain sunday a

the richmond san rafael bridge looks pretty slick. >> we do have showers that are now beginning to move out of the bay area. but when it rained it poured earlier tonight. to the tune of .75-inch in parts of the bay area. it's mostly headed up and out now the heavier cells are over vacaville. over the bay area we have widely scattered showers. but we could get a downpour or two as the night goes on. big view here shows the general tendencies of this to move from south to north and a gentle nudge towards the east. that will take it out of the bay area by 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. so far san jose has picked up a fifth of an inch. redwood city those was under a pretty good downpour and picked up .72 inch. we've got more on the next system coming in later tomorrow and yet more early next week. details coming up when we cover the forecast. >> new at 11:00 this flu season is so severe a santa cruz hospital is restricting visitors tonight. until further notice dominican hospital visitors must be 16-year-old or older. and all guests must wash their hands when entering or leaving a patient's r

richmond and san francisco. lows tonight not quite as cold. we will have a little bit more cloud cover. but still it's cold enough. 36 in napa. 41 in richmond, san rafaeljose. we bring in our storm impact scale. it is a one for late sunday into monday. looking at anywhere from .8 to 2 inches of rain. maybe a quarter of an inch elsewhe elsewhere. but it focuses in the north bay. computer animation through the it's great and rain sticks to the north. by midnight you can see the rain pushing through san francisco and the peninsula. the morning commute looks wet from the peninsula to the east bay and south bay. then it all winds down by the afternoon. so the evening commute looks fine. and rainfall amounts, look at the totals in the north bay. over an inch for calistoga. maybe an inch for santa rosa. these will vary widely. looking at .2 to maybe half an inch. as we pick up this next system on wednesday morning, this too focuses in the north bay. but the rain line pushes through wednesday into thursday with more snow in the mountains. friday looks to be a dry day. the accuweather seven-day forcast, today it's cool, with mid to upper 50s in the south bay. a
