fox news meteorologist rick reichmuth joins me now. rick oh, i love the hat. what is it like out there? a little chilly? >> it is super cold out here. you know there is a lot of people in the middle of the country who say is 9 degrees, doesn't people like that bad -- 19. dakotas and montana, they get to minus 25 minus 30. tough be outside much of the northeast. that causes some big problems. we're dealing with coldest arielly by the time we get to monday in a couple of decades. look at some weather maps. we'll show you what is going on. we have got cold air out there. 19 degrees in sticker but cold in parts of the south. 31 in louisville. it is also very windy with this storm. we're talking about winds that, winds bringing temperatures down, feels like minus one in scranton and five in pittsburgh. you get the idea. we also have another storm moving in. today is kind of a break between two storms. this next storm will bring a lot of snow across eastern parts of new england and places like boston up to portsmouth and portland maine. these areas have seen up to s

fox meteorologist rick reichmuth is tracking the storm. tell me it isn't so. >> it is. find a place to put it take a look at this video from a big accident today in upstate, new york. jefferson county upstate new york, over a 30 car pileup there as one lake-effect snow ban pummeled that area. that is not even the storm we are talking about. cold air this morning in place so the snow not really any way to melt and currently it feels all across the great lakes and it toward the mid-atlantic and northeast blow freezing again. now the cold air is in place. we are going to watch this storm develop here sunday, monday, into tuesday. and it's going to bring quite a bit of snow again. now, it is not going to be a monster storm that dumps very quickly. but because it's about three days of snow by the time this is done, some areas are going to see well over a foot of snow accumulating and look at that boston, two different models we look at. i think the better chance is that over a foot of snow in boston. they have had about five feet of snow, greta. not many more places to put t

>> let's go to rick reichmuth because i think he has got important information about life beyond theseon over. >> more snow for the northeast and more sun out across a the love the west unfortunately. >> good. >> here is what is going on right now. northeast spectacular day today. series of clippers moving in from canada in throughout the northeast and that's going to continue sunday, monday, tuesday, and by the time it's done we're going to see pretty good snowfall totals out of it finally we have rain coming in across parts of the west. a little too much. we have seen some flooding some mud slides across northern california. we are at an incredible deficit of snow. we need snow for the drought to really improve things and we are not getting it this winter. reno nevada, have you only had 2 inches of snow. should see about 15 by now. flagstaff you are well below your average. salt lake city only 6 inches of snow this season. go out across the northeast. not the case. most of this snow that you see has accumulated over the last couple weeks. boston, you normally would have had about 25
