. >> steve: as we look out at the atlantic, let's go to rick reichmuth who is at daytona international> rick: good morning. i'm about four miles inland right there from where they are on the beach. they certainly have the better view. i'm watching the sunrise also looking good. talk weather. really big weather happen across parts of the country the last couple of days and talk a little bit about it. this is river flooding. we are watching. we had a big warm-up so a rapid snow melt that also was exacerbated by the rain falling. now we have got over 150 river gauges that are forecast to go into flood stage. be very careful there. does not body well over the next few months as we get into the deeper melting season and we are also potentially watching for ice jam. temperatures really dropping behind this front. a lot of the areas around 30 to 35 degrees cooler than you were 25 hours ago across interior sections of the valley. temperatures are going to be dropping today as the front moves through there. and for the most part conditions improving today not as much severe weather to be had. g

let's turn to chief meteorologist rick reichmuth who has the fox weather forecast. rick?ar northern plains, temps feel like minus 40 right now. we have a little bit of snow across parts of the mid-atlantic and new england. we'll see it scattered throughout the day, maybe 2, 3 inches accumulating. we've got pretty significant rain across parts of florida, a rough morning. it will clear out later on by this afternoon. things improve a little bit. temps drop quite a built as well. -- quite a bit as well. wednesday and thursday of this week we're looking at the threat for pretty significant he severe weather, maybe a severe weather outbreak across these areas, watch for that. one other story we're watching is the heat across the west which coincides with the super bowl where we have our lawrence jones out there in california. lawrence, how's it going? >> reporter: hey, thanks so much. so we are hours away from the big game here at sofi stadium and in the stadium there's going to be a had history flyover with historic planes. you'll want to tune in for that. also, there is a c
