i am joined now on the phone by florida governor rick scott. thanks for being with me. so you just issued this executive order relocating the national guard's man at the six store front recruiting offices. help better explain for us what is taking place and what does the order mean? >> sure. first of my heart goes out to the family members that have lost the loved ones. i served in the u.s. navy and i cannot imagine that we don't want to make sure that all of the military is safe. we're going to do three things. first we have six store front, and we're going locate them to the armories until we have some recommendations on how we can make sure that they're safe. second we're going to work with local law enforcement agencies to get security check for all of the armories and third i am going to make sure that all of the qualified guard's men are armed for their personal protection. we're going to do everything that we can to make sure that the national guard men are safe. >> when you say all qualified ones will have protection. what does that mean in contrast. it's been u

ben, we just learned that florida governor rick scott has ordered that all full-time florida guardsmen be "adequately armed." the texas and oklahoma governors louisiana governor. they've also made similar stances or made similar orders. what do you think? is that a good idea? >> i do think it's a good idea. i think that what we need to understand is that we're talking less about gun control than we are about mandatory soft targets. saying this place that could attract the attention of a domestic terrorist or someone with criminal intentions or terrorist intentions has to be a soft target. has to be something where people are not armed, and where people know that they're not armed. terrorists like soft targets. they like them because there's less of a possibility that they'll be stopped by a good guy with a gun. and they believe that they are likely to be more successful in carrying out attacks against such targets. i think this really does sort of go to the logic that's behind our basic bill of rights in the sense that we have a constitutional right to defend ourselves. that right shou

you have florida's rick scott who just announced that he wants national guard recruiters to move to theird of staying at store front locations that you see in strip malls. and louisiana's bobby jindal is ordering his state's national guard to arm guardsmen at military facilities. so you think this is the start of something we'll see happening at more centers? >> i think so. don't forget, the guard is the governor's own army. he can do whatever he wants with it. i think you'll see an increasing number of guard units taking up big you are security positions. with respect to recruitment officers, though it depends. it depends on where it is. if you go downtown here two blocks from here at times square there's a recruitment center right in the middle of times square thousands and thousands of tourists all around. i don't think you'll see those recruiting officers armed in other places you're liable to be. in new york, for example that area is protected by new york city police with assault weapon pistols and dogs too, other areas they have to rely on the he crueters to get properly trained in

it is a biggest challenge i think for the candidates other than jeb bush scott walker rick santorum andike huckabee who are looking for the same voters but ultimately that part of the party has been very energized and managing that as the gop goes forward as gloria is saying in terms of the brand is going to be a real challenge. >> brianna, you mentioned it in your report this "washington post"/abc news poll it's pretty amazing when you think about it. there are the numbers, trump at 24%. scott walker, the wisconsin governor, 13%. jeb bush, 12%. everybody else in single digits. it's a significant poll. >> when you look at polls that look at iowa he's doing very well there. he is second. the issue i think with this poll and what we want to see more of is other polls. there was a small sample size. but it's statistically significant when you look at the final day of polling that donald trump took a sharp dip. so you want to see other polls to see if that backs up. because voters take time to hear what happens happened to understand it to make a call. it's only monday. their opinions may c
