(justine) in the east bay, a historic church reopened today after a major fire shut it down last fall.(jr stone) kron 4's hemela aregawi spoke to members about what it was like to be back in their space. she joins us live now outside the church in berkeley. (hermela aregawi)the people i talked to say it was like coming back home. for almost eight months, the members have been going to other churches in the area so they were relieved they say to be able to walk through these doors again for worship.this morning, berkeley's first congregational church's sanctuary held its first service since last september. the tightknit community boasts about 400 members. many of whom returned for the grand opening.
