ridgefield is 20 miles south of newtown. authorities are searching the area after a report of a man at the branchfield train station possibly with a rifle slung over his back. i happened to go to that elementary school in connecticut a long time ago but the train station is quite busy. it takes commuters down to the metro nort line in new york city. this is all coming three days after the sandy hook shooting in newtown, connecticut. we'll continue to stay son top of this story -- stay on top of this story for you. >>> a neighboring town, monroe, seven miles away, offered up an unused school to the more than 400 sandy hook students. officials say the school will be head are -- school will be ready by wednesday but it's not clear when classes will resume for sandy hook students. they are not back at school today. as for the sandy hook school building, one police official says he doubts students will ever attend that school again. >>> 7:18. there are some signs of progress in the fiscal cliff debate. house speaker john boehner

there's been another situation in the ridgefield school district about 30 minutes away. schools there on lockdown after a woman reported seeing a man with a rifle at a nearby train station. no word on whether they found that man, but obviously, jon, police taking every precaution. jon: and the gunman at sandy hook, so many questions about the motivation and the background. what are we learning about him. >>> we've ever learned a lot more as adam lanza who has been described as a near genius who had developmental issues. he is believed to have been suffering from asburger's syndrome, a form of autism. he went to sandy hook for a short time as a child, was withdrawn and home schooled. he went to western connecticut state university when he was just 16 years old and took some college courses there. he dropped out of a couple, he finance eurpb finished a couple of others, his grade point average was 3.26, he never graduated from there. we saw divorce papers between his parents. the mother was authorized to make decisions on his upbringing and we have learned as well that the
