. >> ed riskin of the department of public works. >> i maria, director for the department of children, youth, and their families. >> ladies and gentlemen -- >> thank you. thank you. thank you. can everybody hear me? all right. you may not see me, but you can hear me. ed lee, your mayor. i'm happy to join supervisor mirkarimi and all of the department heads here tonight. this is the ninth of the 10 town hall meetings we had all of the city to introduce to you the challenge of our budget, but most importantly, to listen to you tell us what san francisco's priorities ought to be, and i have been doing this because i believe that our budget should never be decided within just the halls of city hall, that we have to go out to every community and open up the dialogue and allow you to tell us those priorities. i made that promise to the board of supervisors. all of our budget should reflect what people need, what people want the most, and then we tell you what the challenges are. we work together to resolve those. i am here tonight to represent hopefully an open dialogue with you about those

ed riskin knows well what we're talking about. the third issue is parks. i want to qualify my statement about parks to say that we were given a beautiful park on naples between geneva and rock avenue. the first permanent pavement to park project in san francisco. it was a gift, not only from the city, but also from dpw. let me detail what we are talking about in our district, programs in the vessels there -- excelsior. many more park sapping and patrol in our major parks such as crocker-amazon, burke's part, allis chalmers. with those parks, we deal with a lot of seniors. in crocker-amazon, we're given a great gift with the bocce ball courts started over a month ago. trash dumping -- i will be real quick. trash dumping in our neighborhood supported by the efforts of supervisor cohen and at avalos. there are certain hot spots that we cannot do with any longer. we need public service announcements about big trash days, at least two times a year. i last issue, public safety. engleside and terrible station represents the biggest area of san francisco. -- terra

as well as the president of public works, sai ed riskin. we have a great team from the mta, the sustainable streets team. thank you for being here. i am sure i forgot some folks. i want to say thank-you to the mayor and supervisors, in particular, for the importance of connecting us in the city. we all share the goal of making our city easier to move around, more accessible, more business and family friendly. these are the goals that we have at the bicycle coalition. our plan for connecting the city, to creating 100 miles of dedicated bikeways so that families can ride to school, so that folks of all ages can ride to work, to the part, anywhere they want to go in the city. i want to thank you for being part of the division. when we come back next year, i expect to see far more people bicycling. thank you. there's another ed in this world cup, ed riskin, director of public works, he's not here, but i'll try to cover it. we welcome neighbors who see things on the streets that dent make sense. we have been adjusting the schedules for street sweepers and in fact a lot of areas that are purely residential are no longer be swept every week, it's every two or three weeks and the schedules are varying and we're not getting complaints that they're any less clean. but as you indicated, trash does move in strange ways. we'd be very welcome for you to call ed directly to have his staff analyze the streets that you see that maybe we're not doing the right thing. we actually have, this was the open data, a question we were given by former mayor gavin newsom, we have data for our ski jumes and we'll allow you to take a look at that and let you know the schedules where the street sweepers are coming. you can, for your own neighborhood, give us feedback as to whether or not that's appropriate. if you've got a corridor that's changing, a commercial corridor, you'll find you probably need more regular swe
