the highland community school district in riverside is preparing to cut its budget by 500- thousand dollars. the superintenden t blames the projected cuts on declining enrollment and not enough state funding. the superintenden t says pretty much everything is on the table for possible cuts. that includes the possibility of closing this elementary school in ainsworth. the district's also considering cutting teachers and administrator s. one parent with two children in the highland district says the leaders must keep kids in mind throughout the budget process.
