i think about when michael [interpreter] [interpreter] still was chair of the rnc, with the focus wasates discussing economics and the [interpreter] difference between capital gains tax between our democratic friends. we had conversations about immigration, about whether or not we should have strict legislation on immigration or something that falls in the middle. it's one of those common policy issues. now, we're talking about whether or not people should be able to marry each other if they are white or black. we're talking about not having a country that is no longer diverse. these things, i had to say, sam, you know this very well, these are not new discussions in our country, by the way. we have thoroughly dealt with some of these things, what, 50 years ago. my grandparents are still alive. the fact that republican party are bringing up things from our past that i think most americans would want to move on from and heal from, if you will, shows how far beyond the pill the party currently is. i am a conservative. i know a lot of conservative people, sam. i don't think most of them,

so at least stefanik was we worked together at the rnc.she runs for office in 2014, but i don't know because many of us won't remember this. but her campaign in 2014 was like the dream campaign for me, for somebody like me. she ran as a pro-gay, pro-immigrant. let's deal with climate change, compassionate republican like that was her thing. she was strong foreign, foreign affairs and was a, you know, like a paul ryan acolyte on economics, which, you know, i'm you know less the first alleging these days better that is good enough but but on these note on the big fundamental things that really that have turned me off in the party she was right on everyone she was right and she ran this campaign that i knew i had friends that worked for her. one guy says to me to this was the moment that i the most pride in politics when she won. i loved that campaign and that person. six years later, that same person got fired by her because he, on a conference call said that he thinks that she's being too nice to donald trump. maybe she should tone it down
