when this man was headed down on slusser road towards river road on the outskirts of santa rosa.nty fire district says that despite the permanent road signs warning about the potential for flooding, this driver found himself stuck yet managed to get out of the car without any rescuing. luckily, this driver we know made it out, but at 6:00, a little after our crews received the call, they came out. they waded out into the water. they checked the vehicle. they found it to be unoccupied. they searched the area, did not find anyone. they marked the vehicle contacted chp and then the vehicle is left in the water because it was just there was going to be no tow trucks that would come out, you know, at that time to remove the vehicle while the water was still hot, about an hour later, at about 7 a.m., another call was placed for a rescue. the fire district came out realized and verified that it was the same vehicle called that off. the driver ended up returning to this area he seems to be doing just fine as far as removing the car. they're waiting for a tow company to come in when the w

it's not pleasant to be on the roads right now. if you can just wait it out, highly recommend that you can see we're just had another wave that just rolled in a little bit here. and some of it kind of went into parts of marin county. and so some of the heavier rain kind of now there and also down over in the east bay. so as you zoom in here, you can see we're at about about a 3rd of an inch per rain an hour. that's actually a huge improvement. we were having over and inch an hour come down in some spots. so starting to see things a little bit better in places. but you can see the trajectory of this raid is it's just going to track and basically northwest to southeast. and so everything in its wake is going to get awful lot of rain very quickly. so shows you where the flash flood warning is. and you can see in south san francisco till 5 o'clock headed over to the east bay until 6 o'clock again. don't get on the roads. if you can get can avoid it. and this is the north bay where i'm happy to say things are a whole lot better right no

speaking of roads, let's get out on the roads. james torres up in the north bay keeping an eye on the highways. where are you, james? and how is it out there? >> and good morning to you, frank. we are inside what i'm calling our unofficial storm tracker here. it gives us the capability to show you what traffic looks like entirely in real time. we are just now crossing into american canyon. we crossed over the carquinez bridge about 10 to 15 minutes ago. you could feel the wind blowing on the bridge. are going to be a number of wind advisories on all of our bay area bridges, not just today, but certainly for the rest of the week as well. i'll show you what we're looking at just outside with this dash cam, with this dash cam camera. and you can see the roads very much slick, very much wet. that rain is hitting more parts of the bay area earlier this morning compared to yesterday. so it's not just going to be the very tip of santa rosa and sonoma county this morning. no, we're going to see some of that rain coming in a little further

this is a river road yesterday. tran out there and luckily when the person drove in the water wasn't this time, it was pretty high. they were able to get out. call for help and that's fine. but they closed down the road and then you can see the water rose again and shows you just how quickly that can happen and how swiftly the water moves. so the person in this case is fine. but look at that. look, that's 3 feet right there. there's a measuring stick right next to that spot. you know, the usual places that flood chances are they're flooding. so in your neighborhood, just beware. please learn from >> and you can see the lines if you got flowing water over the roadway. >> turn around. don't drown. >> and you need to make sure as well when you're driving as we're showing here, if your wipers are on, your headlights need to be on and slow down, make sure that you leave a lot more space between cars so that there's plenty of time to break. in san mateo county, the campground at memorial county park is closed until sunday

slick roads out there. lot of puddles on the sides of the roads.lso checked some of the creeks and rivers, the napa river, which runs through the heart of the napa valley, dark in deep and fast and muggy. but from what i could tell, it appeared to be staying within its banks. so that's good news. all those kyla mentioned there's still that flood advisories and warnings in the area until early saturday morning. some low lying areas could flood some puddles out on the roadway. keep an eye out for those. if you're driving around. as you mentioned, i went up to snow valley road, which is in kind of the far northeast corner of napa county. and there were some rocks and debris that broken felt free from the hillsides and rolled into the roadway. you know, th se hills have been dry for months. suddenly they're soaked with moisture becomes money. and a lot of big rocks to break free and fall down. so if you're headed out into some of the rural areas here in napa county, just aware that that could be a danger. otherwise, just take it slow out there because

taking a look right now at our roads.imes for those who are heading out this morning. going to work, getting a coffee or taking the kids to school. if you are using 80 westbound crockett to the maze to 35 minute commute, everybody is on that road right now. so you may want to get going taking a look at west bound 5.80, castro valley to the maze. 22 minute commute. not too bad for this hour. a live look at the bay bridge. it is. 25 minutes to get over that stop and go traffic. the metering lights are on. still some residual delays before you get over to the toll plaza because there was a disabled car there earlier. so taking a look over at 8.80. if you're heading southbound san leandro to milpitas. it's a 57 minute commute. they were dealing with a traffic hazard in the middle of the road near the fremont area. it has since been cleared, but we're probably going to see some residual delays moving forward. taking a look at 6.80, southbound dublin to fremont. it is a 35 minute commute. and then lastly, we'll take a look over
