certainly not enough to cause you major problems on roads especially where roads were pretreated.ow we have a second round beginning to pop in. it's a little wet snow mixing with rain down in cumberland county new jersey, parts of cape may and atlantic county and also in parts of kent county delaware. everywhere elsewhere it's a little bit cooler we are looking at snow but again it's light and pretreated road surfaces should be for the most part okay. i'd be a little careful on sidewalks and some of those secondary roads there might not have gotten the brine. there you see what happened overnight. just a sweep of snow coming through, not a lot. there is more gathering to the south and we are still looking at sort of choppy off and on light snow shower. temperatures are down close to or below freezing from about the i-95 corridor north even down into parts of south jersey and millville we're close to freezing at 33. so if you're driving around on some of those secondary roads, side roads or just walking around on sidewalks up in these areas you might wand to be careful just in case

good morning, hampton roads. let's check our live team coverage of the winter weather continues now with rico bush, live in newport news. rico, you and your photojournalist, lavoy harrell, have been out all night, monitoring the conditions and posting real-time and twitter. how are things looking now? tips for driving in the snow from aaa: accelerate and decelerate slowly. applying the gas slowly to accelerate is the best method for regaining traction and avoiding skids. take time to slow down for a stoplight. drive slowly. everything takes longer on snow- covered roads. accelerating, stopping, turning - nothing happens as quickly as on dry pavement. give yourself time to maneuver by driving slowly. the normal dry pavement following distance of three to four seconds should be increased to eight to ten seconds. this increased margin of safety will provide the longer distance needed if you have to stop. know the pedal-it's normal for the pedal to vibrate a bit when the abs is activated. in cars without abs, use "th

looks like roads are clear. a lot of main roads. a good amount of snow on the side and let's get a look at what is going on, so, if you're waking up with us, lake county, you're under a lake snow advisory. for geauga county and ashtabula county, this is not going to end until 4:00 p.m. i said it earlier, you know, this is giving it the timeframe visual and that it may not come down hard right now but through the next few hours, we're expecting a good deal of snow and this is a look at the radar seeing the lake affect snow expand. and we're seeing the purple and talking accumulation later on and i want to take a moment to talk about the second weather headline, which is the touches. twenty degrees in medina; 14, millersburg and factor in the windchill and that is feeling like single digits for many of us this morning. just the wind chill but the single temperatures? that is going to occur. the jet stream is dripping down and arctic air is plunging into northeast ohio into the weekend and this issy look at the feels like temperature.

roads here still very slick. the shine on the road is not water, that is not rain, that is ice especially with the temperature. it's been dropping as we've been driving around here. so any rain like kristin and alyssa we're saying any rain that's falling hits the road and becomes ice. we have seen a lot of dot trucks out here salting and sanding and putting down the brine. the wake county dot says they've put down 100,000 gallons it hasn't made a huge difference. you can see where it's melted but it's definitely so if you do have to be out and about this morning you do want minutes and some distance between the cars in front of you so if you do start to slip and slide you can hopefully avoid an accident. reporting live for now i'm emma wright, wncn news. our coverage continues this morning. we're going to head over to orange county that's where we find wncn's justin quesinberry. i know you said some of the side streets treacherous. >> yeah, it's really bad on the side roads that haven't been treated like what we
