so let's get right to rob marciano there in tampa, and rob, we know florida is on high alert. how soon could ian make landfall? >> well, whit, it really depends on where it makes landfall. the sooner it makes landfall will be south and if it goes north, it will be later. let's show you where the storm is now. it hasn't organized much today. it's about 500 miles south of cuba but we do expect it to rapidly intensify over the next 48 hours and crossing western cuba as we go tuesday into wednesday. tropical storm watches now posted for the keys. you'll feel those winds early wednesday and then maybe a category 3 or 4 on wednesday abreast or over tampa during the day on thursday and then making landfall eventually. you can see the computer models, they're still way out there, so there's a lot of uncertainty where this will make landfall. we do think it willweaken some. severe weather across the northwest and mid-atlantic. another threat will continue over the next couple hours, next couple days they're preparing here in florida. >> rob, our thanks to you and your team. please stay
