let's bring in our meteorologist, rob mayeda. rob. so we talked about snow back east. we had fog here this morning. but we also want to talk about wind. right. yeah. it's what's going to help clear the skies around the bay area later tonight. right now you can see the view out at sfo. the reason why we did have a few incoming flight delays this morning was due to the fog. and at least from now until probably about midnight, we will continue to see fog settling in around the bay area. but the difference tonight? a wind advisory going into effect. it will involve the hills above 1000ft, but those wind gusts and the drier air involved with those offshore winds will actually help to clear out some of our skies, as you see here. hour by hour after midnight. mainly clear skies around the bay area as that wind advisory goes into effect. we're talking about the hills of the north bay, east bay, diablo range and the santa cruz mountains. could see wind gusts just before and after sunrise tomorrow, about 45mph, and the wind direction is dry and offshore. and you'll notice the pe

rob. this horrible situation playing out all week since tuesday. here are some of the latest numbers. the death toll stands at 11. more than 12,000 structures have burned in these wildfires. let's show you some of the detailed numbers. the last time the area was mapped, the palisades fire had burd more than 21,000 acres. but that number is likely going to be higher. now. it remains at 8% containment. the l.a. medical examiner says five people died in the palisades fire, and as many as 5000 structures there have burned. as for the eaton fire in altadena, the threat is not over there yet. not even close. it's now more than 14,000 acres. only 3% containment. the eaton fire, blamed for six deaths and about 7000 structures, have been damaged or destroyed. the california national guard is in altadena tonight. governor newsom deployed about 400 troops to the l.a. area last night. they will support law enforcement as they try to crack down on looting. a curfew is in effect at this hour until 6 a.m

all right rob, thanks. federal authorities are taking over the investigation into the cause of the palisades fire. l.a. city officials say the bureau of alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives are now leading the task force that's made up of federal, state and local police and also in southern california. a man arrested for allegedly starting a brush fire in azusa, just east of where the eaton fire is burning. the small fire s sparkd just after 1130 last night. police say witnesses told officers the man who started the fire was still at the scene when officers arrived. they found him standing next to the flames. they arrested him on arson charges and firefighters quickly put out that fire. an extra boost for los angeles. governor newsom has doubled the national guard presence in the city. he first deployed about 400 troops last night to altadena. and today the governor called in about 1200 more national guard members. they're meant to support law enforcement as they try to crack down on looting and help e
