rob mina. just how long is it going to go? upper 20s, low 30s. and we got the clear skies. yet by our standards, it is california cold around the bay area. once we see those 20s and 30s early this morning, 35, in walnut creek. that will be a location. location pretty close to the freeze warning tonight. san rafael, 39 degrees this morning. a lot of the north bay. the areas you see here in purple will be under that freeze warning tonight from just after midnight through 9 a.m. tomorrow. that includes san rafael, novato, santa rosa, napa, portions of the tri-valley, and in the south bay down near morgan hill. and you could see tomorrow's temperatures. patchy frost possible. bay side inland valley seeing upper 20s and low 30s. now it's going to be a dry finish to the weekend. no problems with any rain, but once the rain does come back. look what it's bringing with it. another connection to an atmospheric river. we're beginning to track these impacts as we head towards the middle part of next week. the next potential for significant rain returning to that 7-day forecast. we'll

low-lying areas along the russian river. the order stretches from healdsburg to jenner and kron four's. rob nesbitt joins us live from sonoma county with more on how the storm is affecting parts of the north bay. good evening, rob. >> brenda? well, i'm beside river road, which runs right alongside the russian river. and when you go to side roads off the river road, you realize why back in an order like that would be issued for low-lying areas along the russian river because there are several roadways that are flooded. >> this is what the driveway at larson family winery in sonoma looked like tuesday. the winery is right next to the russian river. and water started rising over the weekend. the levee kind of breaks right here just a rushing river. come across. >> you can tell that there's absolutely no way in or out. right now, tasting room manager hayden per year has been stuck on the winery side of the water. >> while its entrance on fremont drive looks like this. last year. the winery had to close for 2 months because of flooding for your is hoping that won't be the case with this storm. b

rob, you warned us that things are going to get cold. is this the coldest weather of the year for some areas? morning lowsld have some upperw 20s and low 30s across the valleys. and you know, by our standards, anything upper 30s is pretty cold, but looks like we'll be seeing temperatures staying below average before that rain makes a big comeback midway through the 7-day forecast though. outside right now not too bad. san jose 47 degrees. this is one spot that we will not see the freeze warning in efft for. however, as you head inland to the east out near walnut creek, contra costa county, inner portions of the tri-valley to the south, that's where you'll see those temperatures dropping into the low 30s by morning. right now, 42 degrees in walnut creek, 45 in san rafael and closer to the inner bay, san francisco, 48 degrees. probably not going to find any freeze warnings there. again, around the inner bay, it's pretty tough to do. it's the wind sheltered valleys. we're already seeing those 30s pop up around sonoma, napa out towards livermore again by the morning. if the winds are light with the clear, dry

rob, how cold are we talking here? yeah. you know, typically this is one of the colder times of the year, with the average ls in the upper 30s to low 40s around the bay area. but tonight it will be running even colder than that. let's rewind back to this morning. you can see how the valley started out in the low to mid 30s. san francisco 43 this morning san francisco not likely to be under that freeze warning, but the north bay valleys you see a lot of purple on the map. this includes san rafael, novato, santa rosa and napa, the tri-valley and areas east of san jose into morgan hill could see temperatures tonight in the upper 20s and low 30s. so with clear skies and less wind tomorrow morning likely to see an even colder start to the day tomorrow. and these freeze warnings and frost advisories are likely to continue through about tuesday. now, later next week, some changes as we begin to see the return of an atmospheric, river boosted weather pattern that could lead to some high rain rates. at times we're watching these changes rolling in towards the middle part of next week. as you can see, some of that rain could be significant,
