to see how warm it's been this january, let's check in with meteorologist rob mayeda in the nbc bay area weather center. rob. >> hi there. you may be surprised by how mild what is one of the typically coldest months of the year has been around the bay area. right now this is what a typical day should look like. that has been the exception to the rule for this january. we've seen 18 days of above average high temperatures for san francisco, this is all part of the dry pattern which has also led to chilly nights with light winds and more than usual number of fair the air nights around the bay area so. the flip side to the warmer temperatures has been this dry pattern which has dropped off bay area rainfall totals to 40% to 30% of average from san francisco south and the snow pack looks poor for this time of year. as you roll into february looks like we'll see temperatures warming up again. we could hit 70-degree temperatures in parts of the bay area later this week. that is one of the changes we're tracking. the other includes the chance of showers which is why we have our doppler radar fi
