what's happening outside, rob mayeda? >> more fog in new orleans than the bay area. view from san jose. hazy skies. high clouds going by. making for a gorgeous sunrise after 7:00 this morning. chilly outside. 33 degrees in napa. 40 in san jose. 46 in san francisco. not much wind right now. the story of the day will be northwest winds picking up and moving into the afternoon. here come high clouds from north to south making for some filtered sunshine early in the day and then we'll see partly cloudy skies through the afternoon. hour by hour forecast lunchtime looking at high clouds mixed with sunshine and mainly clear skies. just some patches of high clouds drifting by from north to south into the afternoon. around midday we'll see numbers already in the low 60s. these numbers warming up as north winds pick up bringing in drier and warming air into the north bay valleys and then mid to upper 50s around san jose around 3:00 and 4:00 this afternoon. numbers are going to continue to warm up this week as high pressure takes hold. we'll see mid to upper 60s and even near 7

rob mayeda telling us sunny temperatures down here. >> it will be nice. we'll see temperatures start to climb up after a cool weekend. breezy at times. starting today i think you're going to notice a few 60s showing up after we warm out of the 30s and 40s we're seeing outside right now. 39 in sunnyvale. 34 in napa. 38 in fairfield. high clouds going by. our temperatures will continue to eventually get into the 50s throughout the bay area. a few spots in the north bay today thanks to the northwest winds we're seeing right now. that's going to help to dry out the air and warm things up in the north bay valleys and the story today will be the breezy conditions. we'll see just some high clouds passing by. northwest winds 10 to 20. highs mid to upper 50s today. and then maybe getting close to 70 for the second half of the week as we can see clouds that we see this morning are drifting in from the north. all of the moisture and any chance of rain and snow will stay east of the sierra for today. the pattern shift that is taking place is going from this big dip i

i'm kris sanchez along with meteorologist rob mayeda. you have forecast the wave conditions for a while. it's kind of exciting to see it come to fruition. >> days out you can see the waves coming out across the pacific. surf advisory through 4:00 today. it's cold again this morning. dry air in place. clear skies. 20s and 30s in the north and east bay valleys this morning. speaking of the coast, we'll see those waves anywhere from 15 to 20 feet for parts of the coast. around pillar point we'll see the energy vaulted up to 30-foot faces, the offshore breezes helping to stand up the waves going into the afternoon. you can see mainly sunny skies heading into the afternoon. our temperatures today, i know it's cold, but just like yesterday, we're going to be getting into the 60s, maybe even close to 70. we'll talk about our next chance of finally seeing rain show up in the forecast. >> we are so looking forward to the warm conditions yesterday when we walked out the door in the morning. we felt that blast of cold air. keeps me at work longer.
