both games, by the way, could be played in soggy conditions as rob mayeda has been telling us. we turn to rob, who conveniently happens to be here. it looks like, boy, the two fund-raisers we showed, beautiful, perfect weather. now, things are changing. >> san jose set a record high yesterday of 80 degrees. >> wow! >> warm, windy right now. they will see the showers coming through. take you outside. speaking of the south bay, san jose, 65 degrees. close to the high temperature we'll see today. eventually as we head toward the evening, cooler air and showers moving through that will bring brief downpours. dublin, 61 degrees. the post sunrise glow is out there. 61 degrees currently. 64 san francisco. the rain drops toward marin and san rafael, 61 degrees where the rain is flying. marin county, sonoma county, san rafael seeing the rain. this is a narrow band of rain. this is less impressive. seeing outside, based on the future cast. we are expecting, during this same hour, as this crosses through, periods of showers at time that look like it will be more intense with this band offs

meteorologist rob mayeda's been tracking the situation and he's got the latest. rob? >> the numbers here at 11:00 surprising when you guess the temperature outside right now in san jose, christmas in the park. it is 70 degrees outside right now. south winds, mild temperatures with some tropical moisture coming on in. san francisco not too far behind. 68 degrees. very interesting. our temperatures here at 11:00 will be warmer than the high temperatures we see tomorrow as the rain makes a comeback. right now the radar not showing much. everything still offshore. again the main event with this first rundown of rain coming in just before sunrise for tomorrow morning. you can see all the moist yoor out here stretching out across the pacific. here are the little waves of heavy rain at times that will come through for the end of the weekend. so in addition to the rain, we'll be watching wind speeds picking up tomorrow morning 15 to 30 miles per hour. some of the coastal mountains could see over the next 24 to 36 hours about one to two inches of rain. and if we're talking abo

rob mayeda is here now with how long the storm will last. >> right now we're seeing a warm evening around the bay area. 65 degrees in san francisco and check out the temperatures up toward the sierra. almost the same. near 60 around squaw creek and back into san jose still in the low 70s after record high today earlier of 80 degrees. so right now we have these warm temperatures, southerly flow ahead of the storm off to the west and look at where the clouds are coming in from. the hawaiian islands and tropical moisture which will boost rainfall through tomorrow. right now rain off shore. we do expect this to fill in tonight. and then we'll see for the coastal mountains maybe one to two inches of rain over the next 24 to 36 hours and also the winds will pick up. gusts at about 30 miles per hour and for the sierra it is the one-two punch of strong winds of over 50 miles per hour. heavy rain slowly changing to snow by this time tomorrow evening and we'll watch the mild temperatures for tomorrow morning around the bay area. this is the rain increasing in intensity right around 7:00. upper 50s

meteorologist rob mayeda is all over it. rob. >> anytime we get over half an inch of rain in parts of the bay area i think that qualifies as a significant weather system. we had that storm earlier today that dropped just about a half inch for napa and mill valley. san francisco, points south quite a bit less. you can see just a tenth of an inch around san francisco. close to a third of an inch for oakland, and check out the east bay hills. moraga, almost 3/46 an inch of rain and san jose and morgan hill generally a tenth of an inch or less. higher totals around castro valley. you can see here on the satellite radar view still looking at some snow and rain in the sierra. bay area starting to clear out. our next system is another one of these colder style weather systems that will drop down the coast during the day tomorrow. so with the clearing skies tomorrow if you've been outside this evening you know there's a chill in the air. morning temperatures in the 40s around the bay. north bay valleys and the wind sheltered areas th

rob mayeda tracking the latest on the storms path. >> the latest in the north bay is half an inch aroundapa and less in san francisco. about a tenth of an inch but from oakland to the east bay, toward saint mary's college, and soif just over a tenth of inch and sante fe and more snow. notice the clearing across the bay area. this is starting to set the stage tor chilly temperatures and wind and clear sky valleys in the north bay and wake up to upper 30s. and we'll track around this time tomorrow and another chance of seeing showers, especially in the north bay as an active pattern continues with the promise of a more powerful storm shaping up for the middle part of next week. looking forward the changes over the next five days in your forecast. >>> several crashes on the roads and even flooding. tom jenson in san jose. >> well that rain last night, terry, caused so much rain it -- this area where this globe of trees is, this is an onramp on to 680 off of allen rock avenue and it caused a loagoon and ran across the on-ramp. and one lane is still closed be bother were closed for the aftern

meteorologist rob mayeda has been tracking the incoming storm. what are we talking about. >> right now a storm gathering up more moisture causing the rainfall estimates to go higher this weekend storm. right now no worries about rain in san jose. a very nice 68 degrees. as we saw san francisco with the mid-and high level clouds, 63 right now. up towards the sierra we have seen 60s today. 51 degrees right now at the resort at squaw creek. look at the three-day change in weather starting in the sierra. gusty winds tomorrow up to 45-mile-per-hour. rain changing to snow for the sunday evening drive home. and then snow at times for monday pl aup this part of the same weather system that arrives in the bay area midway through the weekend as things look right now. mount the areas in the north bay could see 1 to 2 inches of rain. north bay half inches. southward about 3/4s of an inches to less than a third closer to san jose. another component we're watching gusty winds over 40-mile-per-hour in the hill tops. coming at 5:15 we have the hour by hour outlo
