meteorologist rob mayeda is here to break all of this down.s is a little scary. >> it doesn't make sense when you look at this extended area of drought how could you have more flooding events, it does tie back to that warmer air holding moisture. the ark storm, research goes back to that event back in 1861 in a steam to to do multiple river storms stalling out over california where much of the sacramento valley and san joaquin valley filled up with water and the bay area saw some extensive flooding, that was in the nation 1862, what might that pattern look like now today moving into the future, the report today found for the sierra specifically, that could include 200 to 400 more percent runoff due to those higher rainfall rates, and those storms and the fewer that may arrive, packing extra moisture, october was a good example of that in the bay area. setting a record for water vapor for an october storm. it was the strongest october river storm that we have seen since january of 2017. parts of marin county saw 12 inches of rain, all of this w
