robert mueller. here is caitlin collins at the white house. >> reporter: yeah, michelle and dave, the white house is ramping up fights to push back on congressional subpoenas as they are trying to conduct oversight. cnn learned the white house may seek to prevent don mcgahn from complying with the subpoena he got from house democrats to testify in their probe into potential obstruction of justice. behind the scenes, no final decision on what is going to happen. as the discussions are moving forward, the white house is weighing whether or not they should assert executive privilege over conversations mcgahn had with the president or if other measures should be taken. the house judiciary chairman does not seem pleased that the white house may prevent him from testifying saying in a statement, in part, i'm quoting, the moment for the white house to assert privilege to prevent this testimony from being heard has long sense passed. don mcgahn's attorney has been in discuss with the committee, but they have not heard a final say, yet, on whether or not he is going to sit down with them. dave and michelle?
