you've got robert gibbs, white house spokesperson saying this afternoon that the white house still expects bipartisan support for the financial regulatory reform. are we to interpret that as a -- some optimism? >> well, they expect they'll get it eventually but probably not today. the meetings will go on even this afternoon between senators dodd and shelby so they're working on it but they're not giving us the sense that it will happen this quickly. overall, in the big picture, they do expect a number of republicans to eventually vote along with this because it's so politically popular in the country to try to have these regulations and they believe that some of the excesses we've all seen over the last couple years do need some new rules to try to tighten things up on wall street. so it's a matter of how to get there and certainly the political context which gives everybody a chance to throw their punches. >> we should point out while you were talking we were showing live pictures on the senate floor. i know you'll keep us up to date on the very latest. thank you very much. kelly o'donnel
