ktvu's robert handa is live to tell us about the challenges in the new search. robert? >> reporter: julie, here you get an idea of the nature of the search. trying to walk a small section, they encounter tall grass and uneven terrain. this afternoon they got much needed help. >> reporter: search and rescue teams and search dogs began spreading out into new territory today to find sierra lamar. the 15-year-old disappeared march 16. investigators believe she was abducted. till today they folked around the home and fields where her fields and purse were found. now the search is expanding south with search dogs trying to find her trail. >> she is a trailing dug but she also -- dog but she also specializes in remains and water. >> reporter: water ways and creek beds were the targets today long with a number of large parcels of property. search teams were mobile today, sometimes topping to look under a board near the side of a road. >> covering areas. making sure people looked in their yards and we are putting our eyes on it for a second or third time. >>> the sheriff's depar
