. >> speaking to robert kelly joining us via skype from south korea he's a professor of the political of diplomacy. you know the americans coming out and saying no concessions off erred to north korea. that's on the public face. privately could anything have been given to them? >> yeah, well, in the past the north koreans have been pretty canny negotiators they usually ask for some quid pro quo which the northwest wants something out of north korea. if i was the north koreans i would be asking for three things, one, some kind of relief on the sanctions since north korea has engaged in the nuclear tests and missile tests the sanctions have gotten tighter i would ask for relief on the banking industry, the north koreans keep a lot of money offshore and places like hong kong and it's made it harder and harder for the north korean elite to import luxury goods if i were the north koreans i would be pushing for that. america probably didn't give any formal but maybe they are looking away. it's hard to believe they gave them away for nothing. unless they are looking for a major breakthrough

robert? >> kellyu know, the third quarter was a tale of two housing markets with higher prices and falling inventory at the top and continued weakness on the bottom. sales of homes priced at a million or more up 9% nationwide according to red fin looking at the major u.s. markets. sales of homes priced at $5 million and up did even better. that was up 18%. that compares with a 1% decline in the overall housing market. inventory at the top is really tight. the number of million dollar homes for sale fell 13% and $5 million plus market, the inventory down 47%. so big jump there. >> when demand is strong and supply is tight, there's only one place for prices to go and that's up and seeing that the list prices continue to be strong and heading north and that's very unlike the rest of the market. >> now, the three most expensive sales of the quarter all over $25 million. one of them is this home in indian creek, florida. just outside of miami. $28 million. it's 21,000 square feet. it is on 2 acres. theater

in kansas where senator pat roberts is locked in a tight race with greg orman. kelly o'donnell is live in topeka. how is it looking for roberts and the independent orman? >> reporter: well, it's a really interesting race because we don't see the typical match-up where you have a democrat and a republican. you have orman, an independent, who doesn't have the benefit of a party structure to do all that getting out the vote. so, aides to orman say they've been using their phone banks and volunteers trying to find not the typical base democratic voters, who they hope will turn out on their own, but looking for those voters who might be somewhere in the middle, might not vote in every election and to try to drive them to the polls. now, pat roberts has usually won easily. he's been elected to the senate three times before. this is a very different year. and when i asked him about the pressure he's feeling and the burden on him, because this is a red state and the republicans want to see a republican senate, and he is really the one in trouble among all republican incumbent

roberts in the end was able to put together a victory. kellyonnell is at what was hoped to be orman victory headquarters tonight. wow, kelly, have they vacuumed? or -- >> reporter: brian, we've been together on nights like this before when you're at the losing headquarters, the sound at this point is the stacking of the chairs, the vacuuming. they've taken down the banners, disassembled the stage. it's that kind of night. for a time during this campaign season, greg orman was one of the most notable figures because he changed the dynamic of the race. in the end, the republican party came in. they came to help pat roberts. and he acknowledged that he had perhaps not been in touch quite enough. that he had maybe not been as attentive as he should've. but tonight, he won a fourth term in the united states senate. he says it's a lot about the overall themes of the night. kansas voters wanting to see a republican senate, they got that, and pat roberts was one of those stories tonight. left for dead, some thought, saved by his party tonight. >> kelly

so, kelly, a unique race here because there is no democrat on the ballot. pat robertshe was trailing by a more significant margin about a month ago. he polled almost even and slightly behind in the average of all polls and in terms of roberts getting over the top and winning it, what does he need to do in the next two days? >> well, it is crucial. and to have some perspective, steve, i've been covering campaigns a long time, i have not been in kansas this close to election day since 1996 when i was with bob dole as he voted for himself for president and bob dole will be here today. the icon for kansas stumping for pat roberts. republican big names from across the country have tried to flood to zone to help pat roberts. this is a state that is easily republican and only sent republicans to the senate since the 1930s. frustration over washington, public fatigue over long-term incumbents have made this a tougher road for pat roberts. when i talk to people here, they basically like him and grown tired of him and the cruteeg, too much of washington and not enough here. how
