roberta is out with mobile weather. have you seen any rainfall out there yet, roberta?reporter: a few sprinkles, lawrence. good afternoon, everybody. yes. mobile weather today, we decided to head north over the golden gate bridge. welcome to bear valley. in fact, give you a little bit of proximity, right over there about a half mile is just a little tiny town of olema. some of the coldest nights in the wintertime are in olema but we decided to come to the north bay because my photojournalist and myself we wanted to check out the dry conditions here north of the golden gate bridge. so we headed to napa and take a look at this video from earlier this morning. under mostly cloudy skies, we checked out the napa river that flows through the town. i have stop on top of that bridge -- i remember it well. 1997 when the waters came all the way to the top of the bridge overflowing it. today, the river level is roughly about 30 feet. so very dry conditions. very dire. so we decided to pony up next to john and he is a park ranger here in the north bay. i have to ask you, how have t

roberta is doing traffic. happy new year, roberta. >> happy new year.ust thought i would try something new for the new year. give it a hand here. hey, this morning, we have had a very helpful hand in clearing a situation on 680 at the 101 connector. i thought i would call up this particular map so we could look at the san jose area in general and you'll notice everything looks pretty good when you see green on the screen that means everything is flow 60 to 65 miles an hour. a little window to the world of san jose, lots of clear skies out there with no reports of airport delays at mineta international airport. another view this morning this is the carquinez bridge to the maze. we are looking at smooth sailing. in fact, you can counted the cars on approach to the bridge this morning. everybody is obeying the laws, the speed limit is being activated everything looks good out there. meanwhile this is i238 to i-80. the maze again very quiet. in fact, in a commute into san francisco this morning, i think we saw a lot more traffic out there than there is now.

, roberta.s is going to be one for the record books and the next few days high pressure sits overhead. the big concern is the fire danger. red flag warning posted for the north and east bay hills and diablo range. we have seen strong gusty winds overnight continuing into this morning and likely to subside and kick up again the next couple nights. the red flag warning has been extended until thursday at 8 amount. gusting winds to 40 miles per hour. humidity less than 10%. that is bone dry and, of course, we haven't seen any rain. all right. around the bay area this afternoon, the temperatures going to be spectacular all the way to the beaches. you're looking at upper 60s nearly 70 degrees. a lot of 70s inside the bay and also into the valleys. it looks good outside right now. these temperatures getting cold though in spots. we are not seeing any wind. about 27 degrees in santa rosa, 37 in concord. this afternoon, how about this? record-breaking temperatures, elizabeth! 60s and 70s! >> unfortunate

inside the bay temperatures generally in the 50s and the 60s. >>> roberta took the mobile weather toirport this morning. how's it going? >> reporter: lawrence, we rolled mobile weather on up to sfo where currently it's 52 degrees. it is a little bit damp as far as the roadways are concerned but what a difference a day makes. it was this airport just 24 hours ago as well as oakland international airport and mineta international airport that were experiencing extreme delays and it's all because of the polar vortex. in fact, let's recap. yesterday at this hour, over 2500 flights across the entire country were canceled due to historically cold weather. today, so far, i have taken a look at the arrival and departure board and only seen a couple of delays. in fact, two cancellations actually out of chicago and out of cleveland where, by the way, chicago current air temperature is now jumped up to 1 above zero after experiencing overnight lows of 10 below zero. now, when you see a lot of unclaimed baggage at airports that generally means there are flight delays and cancellations but again,
