reporting in dublin, roberta gonzales. >> thanks roberta. this could be some storm setting up.e catching a much needed break right now. the doppler has been tracking showers this morningful all that is tapering off, but it won't be long before things are picking up once again in the evening hours and overnight. we are seeing some delays at sfo of about 43 minutes on arriving flights. we will see sunny breaks outside in the afternoon and some dry conditions for now. that all changes tonight. increasing clouds, the rain and the wind will be ramping up and it will be a wet and windy stormy friday on tap for the entire bay area wind advisory in effect along the coastal areas. strong winds up to 50 miles an hour. maybe a few gust higher than that. we could see the downed power lines an downed trees. there is likely to be some debris in the roadways. all right, here it is. you can see the storm system just developing off the coastline. this low is going to be the kicker. this storm system really helping to develop and slowly slide toward the bay area deepening the storm system. the c

roberta. >> reporter: good morning, everybody.orner of san bruno avenue east and also 7th avenue right here in san bruno. it currently raining and cloudy. we have a southeast breeze at 9 miles per hour. it's a heavy breeze. again out of the southeast. now, we're not saying it was the wind in the overnight hours that brought down this very strong eucalyptus tree but nevertheless, this is all that is left of the tree. let's set the stage for you. it was in the overnight hours that firefighters received a telephone call of a downed tree on a home. now, it also damaged two of the occupants' cars. now, by the time firefighters came out here, they assessed the damage, they did realize there were no injuries but the residents had a early wake-up call. they proceeded to go ahead and cut up the tree and here we are now. this is all that's left of this particular eucalyptus tree. has we have been roaming around this morning, we did notice that these trees do have a very shallow root base and they are very top-heavy so it doesn't take much o

roberta! >> reporter: good morning, everybody. we are on 580 west. we are heading towards hacienda crossing at this particular time. let me show you what the traffic looks like in the eastern portion of the bay area. the temperature is 55. the winds have now subsided to the southwest at 8 after a very breezy morning as lawrence has been alluding to. traffic is now beginning to pick up somewhat after bumper-to-bumper coming west off the altamont pass. i'm looking at both directions. we still see a lot of ponding due to yesterday's downpours. but as far as the road itself is concerned, not that bad. not that the slick at all. however, as we have been reporting all morning long, this exact time tomorrow just 24 hours away, we will be in the thick of a storm. so we will be talking about again massive traffic headaches. this is a good time to start thinking ahead and planning your morning commute. at this particular time, we are doing the speed limit at 55 miles per hour driving in the westerly direction through hacienda crossing. we are heading towards t

hi, roberta. >> reporter: yes, lawrence, good morning to you.43 degrees here in pleasanton. i don't know if you can see it, but i can see a lot of fog in the headlights here. and while you may be able to see me, i'm standing directly in front of you. that may not be the case as you're driving this morning in pleasanton heading towards the freeway to make tracks towards the silicon valley or perhaps even towards concord, clayton, walnut creek, because it is a very foggy commute. in fact, right now, visibility here off bernal avenue you want to make tracks towards those freeway on-ramps and off-ramps it's limited to less than a half mile in most locations, even some spots. we have encountered some spots here in mobile weather down to a quarter mile visibility. so again, something directly in front of you, you may be able to see. but let's say if there's a person, a pedestrian who passes in front of you on one of these arteries leading up to one of the main roads, that's when it becomes very problematic and you may have to brake quickly. heads up d

kpix is joining us live at mount diablo, roberta. you want to see where i am or exactly what has left them in yesterday's snow. this is it. >> that is what is left of the snowfall that happens here yesterday on mount diablo and it is 40 degrees and the wind are picking up 10 miles an hour. and it is as to the chill. we haven't seen sunny breaks and when that occurs, it is mounting very rapidly. however, this was a seen yesterday when snow fell right here in the eastern portion of the bay an area. and now -- bay area. and snowflakes fell 200 feet if elevation. this was the first snowfall on top of mount diablo. >> it is 3,480 feet tall. we took a drive. as far as we could go. 2800 feet. we did found patches of left over snow. sun melting it rapidly. we couldn't get up to the top of the mount die and blow and the last 385 feet. >> however, call me crazy. look at the livermore valley. they are singing louder today and little bit greener with the passage of the system. >> this is the incoming weather systems and this is kpex, 5 news. bac

roberta gonzales is out with the mobile weather lab taking a look at one of the reservoirs in morganbert. >>> we are currently in morgan hill approximately about 70 miles to the south of san francisco or about 10 miles south of san jose. morgan hill consists of a population of about 35,000 people and we came here this morning because we wanted to talk about [ speaking spanish ] otherwise known as the great ravine named that in 1842. today we call it uvas reservoir in the foothills of the santa cruz mountains or just west of morgan hill. we couldn't get exactly there this morning because we have a difficult time getting our signal out of there. but i shot this video just yesterday from my iphone and you can clearly see that this reservoir is dry. now, keep in mind, this reservoir is operated by the santa clara water district. it is one of 10 operated by the district and it does funnel water into 25% of the population in throughout the santa clara valley. but look at that reservoir, very dry conditions. this is a reservoir just six months ago i competed in a triathlon in swimming acros
