you saw it was dry and roberta's live shot, but those swollen creeks and rivers remain a problem. valley water tweeted out these pictures in gilroy in morgan hillus creeks spilling over onto highway one. oh, one. caltrans has now shut down one of the south bend lines of one. oh, one between monterey road in highway 25. because of the flooding, they're they're even bigger problems. in the community of socal. this is daytime video from twitter user michael kelly he shared with us showing part of north main street in socal washed away overnight. there are reports that there was an underground culvert that may have collapsed, causing the road to buckle. it happened during the early morning hours. santa cruz county emergency responders also shared video of that rushing creek. this is called bates creek. people who live north of there. in several communities, and there's several 100 people in that rural part of socal, who are now stuck. for now, the county is trying to establish an alternate way for people to get around the road collapse. san francisco chronicle just now reporting that the roads supervisor in this part of the county says that the pla

roberta will see you soon. thank you people around the bay area tonight, preparing for the coldest day of the week. gate reviews lamonica peters live for us in morgan hill. alright lamonica colder now our colder this time last night. well you know, i'm not sure, but it's always cold in this area, so people say they're used to making adjustments to the to their routine when the cold weather rolls in. with a freeze warning in effect until thursday morning, this man and morgen hill says he'll do what he always does when it gets really cold bundle up. the secret is not what you wear about how many layers you wear. you know you were two or three extra layers and makes all the difference. benjamin shepherd is sitting outdoors at crafty roots on monterey highway even as the temperature continues to drop the bar and restaurant staff there say they make it a point to keep it warm indoors and use heating lamps to serve people sitting outside, especially during winter. cold spells. of course, i'm wearing sweatshirts and um, sometimes gloves if it's that cold rain jacket, but yeah, we just try to stay warm ourselves and keep the good service going whenever a freeze

beautiful hills out there a beautiful day in most parts of the bay area today after a relatively dreary sunday , but that is about to change. that's right. let's bring in meteorologist roberta gonzalez. and this next storm, roberta, i guess is pushed into the south. so maybe we in the bay area don't get hit as hard as we've been hitting the pastor. good point there, but we are going to be on the northern fringe of the system so as a barrels towards center oh, california and all into southern california. we are certainly not going to be a miss . in fact, right now we're looking outdoors right now towards san francisco, where we do have clarity. lots of clear skies visibilities at 10 miles, but look what's lurking offshore . it's a major player. it's a cold front end. it originated in the gulf of alaska but is tapping into that down there that is the atmospheric river and that is going to push this system. pretty much to the south of the bay area, but again we are on the northern fringe. let's follow it along here. here's your tuesday morning commute. it's going to be a mess. we will experience anywhere from light to moderate rain, and then the court the center of that area,

roberta's live report a second ago, the rain starting to subside a little bit, but those creeks remain a problem. valley water tweeted out pictures in gilroy and morgan hillus creek starting to spill over its banks onto frontage roads near highway 101 and south of there in the santa cruz mountains. there are several state highways closed because of landslides like this one on highway 1 29 at murphy crossing closed in both directions. there's even bigger problems in the community of so cal. this is video from santa cruz county emergency responders showing part of the road at north main street in socal washed away there are reports that an underground culvert may have failed, causing the roadway there to buckle. this happened about six hours ago overnight. earlier in the evening. you can see in this video, the roadway completely flooded before it eventually washed away now, evacuation orders are in effect for people living in that area. people who live north of baits creek and socal and several communities are stuck there. for now, they're being told to shelter in place until county emergency responders can find a way an alternate way for people to get out.

roberta. thank you now, if you're driving just be really careful this morning. there are lots of fallen trees like this big tree in morgan hillhe ground. it happened at east main avenue and butterfield boulevard. it barely missed hitting that building right there. one man was killed and another injured after a tree fell on their work vehicles in san mateo county eucalyptus tree fell on a van driving on alpine road in portola valley. the chp the cemetery. oh county sheriff's officers and the woodside fire department. we're all called to the scene. they while they were trying to pull that man out of his work. van another tree fell on a pickup truck. it's one of those freak accidents. he was driving down from what i understand from the plumbing supervisor, he and his partner were driving in two separate vans. they were leaving a job going to another, and unfortunately he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. the man in the van died. the man in the truck was hurt, but officials are not saying how badly he was injured. the trees were cleared off the road by six o'clock last night, and the power is back at the stanford universi
