really rough commute for people out there this afternoon, especially in the north bay. >> ktvu is roberto gonzalezas been out on the roads this afternoon. roberto. the last time we checked, you were driving through the east bay. where do we find you now? >> we're on 680 heading south now, so we're heading towards the benicia bridge. and we've been noticing a lot of slowdowns and also a lot of the on ramps and off ramps onto any of the freeways are flooded. there's also a lot of ponding on the side of the freeway as well. and that's because the cars, as soon as you get more of a volume of people on the roads, it's swooshing all of that water to the sides of the road. so you have to be very mindful of that. also, i noticed sometimes if you're in the fast lane, like let's say we're 680 south, if you're driving 680 north, and again, if you're in a fast lane, that water comes up and over the barrier and smacks your windshield and it blinds you. the visibility is already limited. at this particular time. it's down to about a quarter of a mile. lots of showery activity. the winds have been blustery out o

and we do have team coverage tonight, meteorologist mark tamayo and roberto gonzalez closely tracking this storm. roberta, you are out in the field, but we'll first go to mark tamayo with a breakdown of our forecast. hi, mark. >> hi there. christina. yeah, those rainfall numbers continue to go up quite a bit. we're not just talking about a 10th of an inch or a quarter of an inch. several inches of rainfall today to report here in the bay area. take a look. kentfield in marin county, over 5.5in of rainfall. santa rosa, napa, san francisco all over three inches. scotts valley 2.63. san jose approaching one inch. and that number really has been changing quite a bit just over the past few hours. as the system finally made its move into the south bay. as far as the river. check. the russian river at guerneville right now is approaching 30ft. expected to go above flood stag. tomorrow morning at 8:00. could be cresting at 36.6ft. so that number has been kind of trending up, at least in terms of the forecast. and also the napa river at napa right now is 22.9ft expected to crest at 28.9ft abov

meteorologist roberto gonzalez. take it away. >> isn't it wonderful?looks great up. >> there, especially after a dry january. now we have a fantastic february. let's get to that tahoe forecast. sure, we still have a winter storm warning in effect until 10 p.m. tomorrow night, but an additional 2 to 5ft of snow is anticipated. the snow levels all the way down to lake level. now we go from the mountains to the sea to the ocean, where we do have another warning in place. this one is for the high surf until 3 a.m. saturday morning. some of the waves up to 25ft could even see them capping out at 30 to 35ft. right now i've just noticed about 12ft waves off bodega bay. so this is it isn't that big and it's beautiful. it's this area of low pressure. it's bracing up against the west coast. you see right here, the core, the center of the low. this is the frontal boundary. it's encompassing the entire state. and right here on its heels, yet another plume of moisture. this is what's going to produce a chance of some rain showers on sunday morning in the north bay.
