live team coverage continues with diana rocco.he's been in her port richmond neighborhood tonight talking with neighbors and friends. diana? >> reporter: chris, theresa hun lived in this neighborhood for nearly two decades and tonight neighbors are painting a picture of a very sweet woman who loved her job and was dedicated to it word of her death has come as quiet shock to many people we were talking to on the streets here today. who only found out this afternoon when police started showing up at hunt's door trying to verify that that was in fact her address. and looking for family members. landlord showed up a short time later to change the lock the door. we were able to speak with some women on the block that she was very friendly with. they said she worked long hours and she did love her job as caseworker. in fact she would often come home and share stories with the ladies. theresa did live alone. she does have brother who lives nearby who she'd go to bingo with twice a week. and a sister who lived upstate. >> very nice woman.

we go now to "eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco. diana. >> reporter: jessica, we still have pretty active scene out here tonight. police have been out her for several hours. short time ago the narcotics unit was called in. the investigation has been focused around the second floor of this building. they are still trying to determine exactly what it is that they found upstairs. the call came in just before 7:00 o'clock tonight on ninth and spring garden. the bomb squad responded almost immediately because it was initially thought to be a hazmat situation. what they found upstairs i have just learned from police was a pressure cooker and some piping. but it turns out tonight that that substance found in that pressure cooker and with that piping was not illegal. they say they also found some organic substance growing in the second floor of this apartment. it was initially thought to be some kind of pot growing operation or some other drug. but that was found out not to be the case tonight. police are now saying as far as they can tell,

"eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco is live at police headquarters. what have you learned diana?> reporter: jessica they weren't roommates but police say laura and the man now charged with her murder rented rooms right next to each other and that she was scared for her life in the days leading up to her death after a run in with this house mate. tonight he is charged with her murder. police now say 22 year old jeremiah jackson confessed to the murder of laura. >> mr. jackson motive was robbery and it is believe mr. jackson believed that she had some money with her. a large amount of cash. >> reporter: detectives removed evidence from the west philadelphia home where the two rented rooms next to each other. that's the place police say jackson killed 23 year old art institute in the early hours of monday morning before putting her in a dufflebag and leaving her body on a street. police say jackson drove her car to a south philly street and it will it on fire. he was taken into custody after he wept to a hospital to be treated for burns and his cell phone was found at the scene. >>
